PR6 starts in the Rabaçal area and follows mountain water channels through Laurissilva forest towards the 25 Fontes lagoon.
History and character
Levadas were built to carry water to Madeira’s farms and settlements. The trail is now one of the island’s best-known walks, but conditions and access rules can change.
